What is Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)?

A brachioplasty is a surgical procedure where excess skin and fat are removed from the upper arms. This procedure is designed to help patients achieve a more contoured, toned appearance. During the procedure, small incisions are made in your upper arm. The excess skin and fat is removed, and the skin is tightened. Most patients experience low to moderate pain after the procedure.

Benefits of a Brachioplasty

There are many benefits to receiving brachioplasty. Some of the benefits a patient can look forward to after the procedure.

  • Slimmer and Firmer Arms
  • Eliminate Excess Weight Caused by Rapid Weight Loss
  • Look and Feel More Comfortable in Clothes
  • Provides Long-Lasting Results

Slimmer and Firmer Arms

This is an ideal procedure for anyone with drooping, sagging, or flabby upper arms. A brachioplasty helps tone and contour your upper arms. Once the excess fat is removed, the skin is pulled tight to help you achieve slimmer, firmer arms.

Eliminate Excess Weight Caused by Rapid Weight loss

Rapid weight loss can lead to excess skin. Once you reach a stable weight, an arm lift can help you improve the look and feel of your upper arms and complement your results.

Look and Feel More Comfortable in Clothes

Extra skin and fat on your upper arms may make you uncomfortable wearing certain clothing styles. An arm lift will help you feel good in your favorite clothes and give you the confidence to explore new styles.

Provides Long-Lasting Results

A brachioplasty is a surgical procedure that provides long-lasting results for patients. While the look and feel of your arms may change with age, with regular exercise and a healthy diet, you should be able to maintain the results for a number of years.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Brachioplasty?

Patients with excess skin and stubborn fat on their arms are great candidates for this procedure. If you’ve recently lost a ton of weight, you’ll want to maintain a stable weight before the procedure. During your consultation, Dr. Egozi will discuss your previous medical history to ensure you’re a good candidate for an arm lift.

Arm Lift Risks and Safety

With any surgery, there are some risks you’ll want to be mindful of. During the consultation, Dr Egozi will discuss any concerns you may have. You may also need to stop drinking and smoking before the procedure to lower your risk of complications.

Arm Lift Recovery

Most patients can return to their daily activities 10-14 days after the procedure. You may feel minor discomfort and bruising for up to a month after the procedure. Swelling should subside 2-3 days after the procedure, and bruising should start to fade 2-3 weeks after.

How long does an arm lift last?

Arm lifts are a long-lasting, permanent solution for upper arm insecurities. To maintain the look of the results of your arm lift, you’ll want to prioritize a healthy diet and maintain a stable weight.

How painful is arm lift surgery?

During the surgery, patients are put under general anesthesia. After the procedure, many patients may experience light to moderate pain. We’ll prescribe you pain medication to help make the pain more manageable.

How long does it take for pain to go away after an arm lift?

Patients may experience swelling and signs of pain 2-3 weeks following the procedure.  How long do you have to wear arm compression after brachioplasty? Patients are typically required to wear arm compression sleeves for six weeks after surgery.

What is the pain level of brachioplasty?

Patients may experience moderate levels of pain after the procedure. If the pain persists, your surgeon may prescribe you pain medication to help with the discomfort.

Testimonial

Dr. Egozi was my 9th and last consult. I took my time, a year, to find the best facial plastic surgeon. My previous consults included the 5 in S. Tampa;1 in Miami; 2 in W. Palm, 1 in St. Pete. Dr. Egozi’s culture is reflected in his welcoming, professional staff (Debbie and Ginny have been with him since day 1). Dr. Egozi and his entire staff reassured me and made me very comfortable before, during and after surgery.

South Tampa Resident (Glad She Ventured to Clearwater)

Dr. Egozi is the very best plastic surgeon in our Tampa Bay Area! I had a mini face lift ten years ago. Last year. I had an eyebrow lift and my upper eyelids done along with a fraxel dermabrasion. This past February, I had another dermabrasion. I am such a fan of this doctor, that I spread the word to all my friends. He is a caring and compassionate doctor. His staff is wonderful, cheerful, so accommodating, and it is obvious they like their boss, Dr. Egozi. Don’t chance going to another doctor when you can have the best results with Dr. Egozi!
