Sculptra Injections in Tampa Bay
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is an injectable cosmetic filler used to restore facial volume that may have been lost due to age. It can also be used to treat a loss of facial volume that may have occurred due to illness or significant weight loss.
How Does Sculptra work
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which stimulates collagen production. In stimulating collagen production, PLLA gradually restores facial fullness by treating creases, deep lines, and folds, including smile lines and lines around the mouth, resulting in a more youthful appearance. Sculptra adds overall volume, and can also be used to contour the face. The results are not immediate but can last up to two years.
Who Is A Good Candidate For Sculptra
Any adult individual with facial fat loss, deep folds, creases or wrinkles, may be a good candidate for Sculptra.
Benefits of Having Sculptra
The increased collagen production stimulated by Sculptra results in an improved skin tone and texture, and better skin health overall, with visible results that are natural-looking and long-lasting (up to two years).
Boosts Collagen Growth
Collagen is a substance that is naturally produced by the human body. It plays a role in strengthening the dermis (skin), and provides elasticity and hydration to the skin. As you age, your body produces less collagen, which can lead to the formation of wrinkles. Because poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), the active ingredient in Sculptra, stimulates collagen production, the result of a Sculptra treatment is improved skin tone, texture, and elasticity, as well as better skin health overall, with visible results that are natural-looking.
Offers Long-Lasting Results
Sculptra offers significantly longer-lasting results than many other dermal fillers and facial injections. The visible results from a Sculptra procedure can last up to two years.
Non-Surgical
Because Sculptra is non-surgical and minimally invasive, the procedure offers lasting, noticeable results that do not require the significant recovery time of other, more invasive facial cosmetic procedures, such as facelifts. Patients can generally return to their everyday routines immediately following Sculptra injections.
More Natural-Looking Results
Sculptra’s stimulation of collagen production results in a facial volume that is added slowly and gradually. The effect is an overall lift and rejuvenation that looks natural, due to its gradual nature, as well as the fact that collagen is a natural substance already produced by your body
The Results Are Gradual
You may be concerned that your cosmetic surgery procedure will result in a sudden and drastic different appearance. The results brought on by Sculptra are gradual, which will appear more natural to you, as well as to your friends and family members.
Sculptra Risks & Safety
Sculptra patients can expect swelling and bruising at the injection site, in addition to mild pain and tenderness, bleeding, redness, itching, and bumps. These side effects are normal and temporary. Some patients may develop nodules under the skin, but this risk is low: according to a 2015 study, only 7-9% of Sculptra patients reported lumps under the skin; the development of nodules appears to be connected with the depth of the Sculptra injection – usually, an error made by an unprofessional surgeon.
Sculptra should not be used by individuals who have a history of irregular scarring, or by those who are allergic to any of the ingredients in the injection. Individuals should not have any open sores, acne, rashes, or other skin inflammations or irritations at the time of their procedure.
How much will Sculptra cost on Average?
The average cost of Sculptra per vial is just over $800; the average total treatment cost can range between $1,500 and $3,500.
How is Sculptra Procedure Performed?
During the Sculptra procedure, a small needle is used to inject Sculptra into the second layer of your skin, known as the dermis. The PLLA is absorbed by the dermal layer’s tissues, stimulating collagen production and strengthening the skin’s natural structure.
Most patients will require 2-3 treatments over several months to achieve optimal results. Patients will be able to leave the clinic and resume their regular activities immediately after their Sculptra procedure.
